Line Societies Liaison Group

About the Group

This group was formed in 2021 to bring together railway societies that share the objective of researching British railway history. The Line Societies Liaison Group is an informal alliance which meets regularly to share best practice and discuss issues of mutual concern.

Many of these organisations have as their primary focus the history of a particular pre-Grouping railway company, though most embrace the post-1923 railway history of their company's territory down to the present day.

Through these channels, the Liaison Group aims to promote the sharing of best practice in areas such as meetings, policies, archives, ideas for membership engagement, and the sharing of resources.

Contact: John Gowers, Chair of the L&NWR Society, acts as the Group's point of contact via chairman@lnwrs.org.uk.
